My Long Standing Big Question That Will Likely Not Ever Be Answered
I have wondered ever since Locke started trying to convinvce Jack that the island was a special place; well why didnt he reveal to Jack (a spinal surgeon mind you) that before crashing on the island he (Locke) had been confined to a wheelchair for 4 years.
If that didnt give Jack reason to pause and think then nothing would have!
Think about it - trust me - he never told him, no one ever told Jack that. That may have changed Shephards perspective dont ya think? At least hav been food for thought ya know...
Food for thought - feel free to throw your thoughts into the ring :)

Is on commerc break right now and its incredible, since the 1st minute its been a fuckin classic, many diff big characters involved with ill performances, the big three of acting - Jack, Locke and Ben are serial killing it right now....gotta go its back on - more later of course. Locke and Jack are knockin a scene together outta the park now - FST Locke just told FST Jack that maybe this all happened for a reason....Jack told him he thought he was mistaking coincidence for fate - okay Jacobs tellin the crew whats what - I gotta go!

One Of My Oldest theories Finally Confirmed........Possibly ; )
So, im in commercial during the last recruit so I will be swift. Once I had an understanding of the smoke monster, like late season one maybe early season two - its been a few years so forgive the ballpark timeline there - but once I had that understanding I have presumed ever since that the first time we saw Jacks dad, Christian, in episode 5 - White Rabbit - that that was the monster attempting to kill Jack. If you recall, Jack went running after the apparition and went tumbling down a partial cliff and then going over a real cliff where he luckily landed a grip on a tree root until - of all people - John Locke came and rescued him. Well The Nemesis, aka Smoke Monster, aka Cerberus aka the Man in Black just told Jack that that was in fact him. Only problem I have is........I dont believe him for some reason. Why was Christians body missing but John Lockes body was very much present and accounted while the MiB took on his persona....Hmmm..... we shall see shant we?

Wondering About Jeremy Benthams Mission.....
So when John got off the island and began attempting to get those who had left to go back - how come he went after Walt (though he wound up not asking Walt to go back at all) and yet John never mentioned anything to Kate or anyone else about Aaron? He never made mention of Desmond either and he had been on the island for 3 years and got away from the island with the survivors who came to be known as the Oceanic 6. When Richard removed the bullet from Johns leg he told John that he'd have to bring back all those who left - once he was down the well, Christian told Locke that he had to bring each and every person who left back but said no specific names. So I just find it strange how vague they are. By the time the Oceanic 6 made it off the island, Desmond had proven to be very much interwoven into their island destiny. He has played and continues to play a critical role in the 815ers tale. I mean hell, he's the one who "technically" is responsible for crashing their plane on the island in the first place. But Jacob brought Dez there same as anyone else and that was a part of his purpose....alas I digress, so Locke thought to bring Walt back but not Dez, one could argue he thought the 815ers were the intended people, but then why not tell Kate to bring Aaron? Not only did Aaron leave the island but he was born on it, apparently the first to do so in a very very long time, implying that he was protected and his birth is of some importance, to Jacob or the island at least. Anyway so theres the thought, why Walt but no Desmond or Aaron? Might be significant, might not - but I have a feeling that Aaron will be significant again by the end, but we shall see, as I like to say - time will tell, it always does....

Saw Ya In Anutha Life Brutha!!!! Desmond-centric Ep - S6 E11: "Happily Ever After"
Greetings & Salutations to my Lost-o-philes, I am here to write about one of my fave characters and one of my fave mystery/plot points and that would be a Mr. Desmond Hume. Any of you reading this have been warned that you must be up to date because I dont hold back for those of you who arent current on the islands situation. However, I do believe that Dez deserves a little back story from me, not too detailed, but a little, to put his mind frame into context leading into this episode centered on him, I believe its his 6th or 7 centric episode and just as he is a special character on the show, his episodes are quite special as well. Season fours The Constant is one of the 7 best episodes ever if not better. This one didnt disappoint either, it finally weaved the flash sideways timeline into some significance for us and show us that tied to Desmonds fate are the fates of just about all our other Oceanic 815ers. Anyhow, lets get down to the nitty-gritty shall we?
So Dez awakens in the infirmary on hydra island to Zoe taking care of him, she is a geo-physicist who works for and is there with Widmore - apparently actin as a basic second-in-command. Desmond asks for Penny and tries to get up and find her but Charles comes in & explains that he took Dez after he had been shot by Ben and hospitalized in S5 E6 "316" (if by slim chance its not that exact episode then Im only one off, I work off memory here people :) We did see Charles there speaking to Eloise at the end of that episode, so apparently Widmore set up surveillance and when Dez was stable enough to move they grabbed him. Widmore apologizes for taking him away from Penny & Charlie but says that they are perfectly safe. Dez asks taken him where? When Widmore says the island he attacks Widmore with the IV pole and is restrained - Widmore doesnt fight back and says his men are not to hurt Dez. Widmore tells Zoe to go get the "experiment" ready to go now that Dez is on his feet. His people are not prepared to run the test yet and begin final preparations. A power failure sends a team widmore member into a shack outside the hydra facility where they are based out of. Inside this shack are two huge "solonoids" which are obviously used in some manner regarding electro-magnetism (that was already confirmed when Zoe asked Jin about the pockets of EM that DHARMA had mapped out on the island. While touch and attempting to fix a solonoid the power is turned on too early and team widmore member in shack is cooked to a crisp, before his body is even removed, Charles is there with his men escorting Dez to the shack, he puts Dez inside and explains that unless his hopes regarding Desmonds abilities are true then everyone - Penny Charlie their son, all the Losties - everyone will be "gone forever". He then, Jin says he wont help unless Widmore explains what the hell he is doin to Dez, Charles replies that Dez is the only person on Earth he knows of who has survived a "catastrophic electro-magnetic event, I need to know that he can do it again, or we all die." He then activates the solonoids (does so himself when a scientist hesitates) and the cameras inside the shack show Dez gets bathed in the energy, he writhes in pain and screams to be let out but as the energy absorbs into him more he passes out onto the floor of the shack.
This brings us to the flash sideways times......
Im not positive yet but I think they used a different sound for the transition from the original timeline to the flash sideways. This wouldnt surprise me since during the Constant they didnt use any transition sounds that they had previously used for transition to flashbacks. They didnt use the noise during the Constant because the time travelling wasnt actually a "flashback" it signified that Desmonds consciousness was continuing in a linear motion and had actually travelled back in time as opposed to being a flashback where the narration of the story goes back in time. That probably came out convoluted and a waste of time but I hope you get the gist of what I was saying. So Dez appears at the airport lookin at an info board of some kind in the airport. Hurley passes by and tells him where the luggage carousel for their flight is. Then Dez meets Claire at the luggage carousel and helps her out, he offers her a ride and says a car is waiting for him (as we have seen in the S6 premiere, Dez is well dressed and lookin business-like in this FST.) She thanks him but says no, someone should be there for her or she wil catch a cab - as we know a cab becomes her means of transport...Lol. The driver pickin up Dez is George Minkowski from the freighter kahana crew, he was also a time traveller like Dez, at least his consciousness was, it eventually killed him just before Desmond contacted his constant and saved himself from death. So George the driver asks if Dez needs anything and where hed like to go, he says he just wants to get to the office, George remarks thats why he is the bosses right hand man and George is juts a driver. We next see the office and find out his employer is none other then Chuck Widmore, who actually calls Dez "friend" and hugs him upon his arrival at Widmores office in LA. Oh the irony brutha....
So Widmore tells Dez that his wife is throwing an event for his son, who is a musician, and that he is collaborating with this rock band called Drive Shaft and one of them got himself arrested on the plane and needs to be bailed out and babysitted to make it to the event. Obviously this turns out to be Charlie. Upon leavin jail he ignores Dez and ignores traffic walkin blindly across the street to a bar. Dez joins him and says we can have one drink then we go. Charlie berates him asking if he is Widmores head "lackey or henchman". He then asks if hes happy, Dez says yes, I have money a great job and travels etc. Charlie says no but have you ever been in love? Dez says yea hes been in love lots of times and Charlie says no, like "consciousness altering love"?. He says he saw it on the plane, Dez says we were on the same flight, maybe I saw it too, Charlie says "Trust me...ya didnt" He then explainshow Kates Marshall on the plane saw Charlie and clocked him as holding drugs immediately, so he got up and went to the bathroom to swallow his stash. And just as he swallowed it the plane hit turbulence and it got stuck in his throat. Once it went black, as he slipped into the abyss, he told Dez he saw a rapturously beautiful woman and that he knew her, was in fact with and in love with her, and always had been, he claimed that he could feel it was the truth, it was genuine love. Just as he was about to be "engulfed" by it, some sodding idiot was there asking him if he was okay (Jack of course). Dez blows it off as being poetic but Charlie says he's seen something real, the truth. Dez tells him that he has to make a choice, to either go with him now his career is likely over, or he could be in a 5 star hotel with powerful Widmore owing him a favor. Charlie says it doesnt sound like much of a choice, Desmond replies "theres always a choice brutha".
Then in the car Charlie gets on Dez about not actually being happy again and says Charlie will show Dez what he meant by all his talk, or Dez can leave the car, before Dez fully registers the statement Charlie yanks the cars steering wheel and drives them into the water of the marina (Same marina where Dez and Penny were when Ben shot him). While tryign to rescue Charlie from the car, Dez is on the outside of the car trying to open the door, Charlie is inside behind the door and submerged totally underwater - very closely paralleling the Season 3 finale where Charlie drowned behind the door in the Looking Glass as Desmond watched. So car-drowning Charlie appears unconscious but then comes to and puts his left hand to the glasss and this causes Dez to have a flashback (not time-travel just a good old memory flashback) of the original timeline situation when Charlie died, he saw Charlies hand and "not pennys boat" written on it, then the feeling subsided and he quickly rescued Charlie. At the hosp they put Dez into an MRI - magnetic resonance imaging exam - and when the magnets turned on Dez has another flash to the original timeline and sees brief flashes of Penny and his son Charlie, but most importantly he feels the love, just as Charlie had spoke of when he was recalling seeing Claire while choking to death on the plane. Dez bugs out from the flash and finds Charlie, he asks to see his hand and asks who Penny is, so Charlie realizes Dez saw it. Dez then tries to get Pace to the party to play but he gets blown off and Char says he isnt playing any rock concert after everything he's been thru. He says Dez should be more worried about finding "this Penny". Desmond informs Widmore of the issue with Charlie and Chuck is pissed (he already said she would "destroy" him if he didnt make sure the sons party went well)and he then tells Dez he can tell Mrs. Widmore the bad news himself since he thinks it isnt a big deal. Cut to the Widmore LA estate and Mrs Widmore is none other then.....as we all would have guessed it Eloise Hawking, Faradays mom dukes. She immediately recognizes Desmond although Dez already mentioned to George the Driver that he had never met the bosses wife, hes introduces himself and she says shes heard all about him and its a travesty they didnt meet sooner. He tells her the bad news and although everyone made her out to be a battle axe she is understanding and kind about the situation, saying rockstars are unreliable, she is very dismissive of Dez and attempts to get him out of there ASAP, but while leaving Dez hears a party planner saying Pennys name and he stops asking to see the list, Eloise bugs out and says he can not see that list, she then pulls him to the side. He apologizes if he overstepped his bounds but she shushes him and says shes heard what he has to say now he must listen to her. She wants him to stop, he says "stop what?" She says someone has clearly effected the way he "sees" things and it is a big problem, and she says "it is, in fact, a violation" (I believe shes referring to either the laws of time travel or the paradox laws). She says he needs to stop lookin for whatever he "thinks" hes looking for. He then realizes and asks how she knows what hes looking for and what he wants. She says because she does, and he can not see that list with Pennys name because he "isnt ready yet". With that she dismisses him.
Faraday had overheard Dez asking for the list and observed his convo with Eloise, so he visits Desmonds car before it pulls off. He asks if they can talk, he brushes off Dez's apology about Charlie and asks if Desmond believes in love at first sight. He then tells of seeing Charlotte at the museum she works at, on her lunch break eating a candy bar one day, and Dan said he felt love as soon as he saw her, similar to what Charlie said - he felt as though he already deeply loved her. He then says that he went home that same night and went to bed, at some point he woke up and wrote in his journal (mostly filled with lyrics and sheet music in this timeline) a very complicated and complex quantum mechanics equation that denoted negating or releasing a catastrophic amount of energy by setting off a hydrogen bomb. He didnt even know what it was, he had to go to a math whiz friend of his at CalTech to find out what the equation meant. He says to Dez that maybe this life theyre in isnt real and perhaps this isnt how its supposed to be. Desmond asks him if hes planning on setting off a bomb, to which Faraday replied that no he isnt planning to, he thinks he already has done so in another "life". Dez begins to bristle as Faraday (ok in the FST its Widmore I know but still) makes these crazy - but very much true assumptions. Dan asks why he was so interested in Pennys name on the list and Dez says hes not sure, Dan suggests Pennys name gave Dez a similar experience to what seeing Charlotte did for Dan. Dez says it crazy and he doesnt know this Penny, he doesnt even know if shes real. Thats when Dan tells Dez that Penny is very real, shes his half-sister, and he can tell Dez where to find her. Now you can see that the story Daniel laid out just became very real to Desmond....
So we see Desmond walk into the stadium where Penny hunted him down and where he and Jack met in the original timeline. This time instead of him running the stairs, its Penny doing the arena run. He introduces himself, feeling quite awkward abviously and he shakes her hand.
Dez wakes up in the OT (original timeline) in the shack with the solonoids and Widmore, Jin and Widmores team are there checking on him. He asks how long he was out and Widmore says it had just been seconds since he passed out during the electro-magnetic saturation process. Obviously Dez reflects on just how much life he led and time he spent in the FST (Flash Sideways Timeline). So Widmore starts explaining and apologizing, beginning to say that he needs Desmonds "talents" to help everybody - when Desmond interrupts him and says Charles need not explain, he understands, and how soon can they start dsoing what Widmore brought him there to do. Zoe and 2 others are escorting Dez thru the jungle, to sleeping or eating quarters of some sort most likely when Sayid appears from nowhere, shoots the two armed guards and tells Zoe to run, you better believe she complies and does so, Sayid was scary when he was a good guy, now forget it.... Sayid tells Dez that those people were dangerous and Dez should follow him, to which Dez replies, Of course, lead the way....
We cut back to the FST (No flashback type "whoosh" sound by the way - like the Constant)and here we see Desmond being helped up by Penny. He asks what happened and she tells him that when they shook hands, he passed out and fell to the floor. She says she must have some effect on him, and he wryly concurs. Now that his consciousness has time-travelled (again) he has understanding of both timelines (thats my theory and interpretation) and they set a date to meet for coffee in an hour. He then returns to the car and George asks if he found what he was seeking and if theres anything else he can do for him. Dez asks George to get him the passenger manifest for Oceanic 815, George asks why, Dez replies that he has to "show them" something....
And the saga kontinues....
Desmond seems to be picking up in the FST where Jacob left off in the OT, in more ways then one, but thats for another blog & another time brutha ;)
Enjoy the rest of the season and remember that this particular blog will be getting better and picking up more steam after the show has ended and the full puzzle (or as much of it as we get) is all laid out for us......
Namasté

Enjoy the rest of the season and remember that this particular blog will be getting better and picking up more steam after the show has ended and the full puzzle (or as much of it as we get) is all laid out for us......

Another Thread of Thought to Weave into the Tapestry
In S5's eppy Follow The Leader, when Locke (whos actually FLocke aka MiB by then) is leading Richard and Ben to the spot where the real John Locke will timejump into that timeperiod appearing near the beechcraft where Richard will take out the bullet Ethan just put into Johns leg.
Anyhow, with the Ajira 316 people and "Locke" having just returned, Richard has questions and he asks FLocke what happened that day three years previous and where he went. FLocke acts surprised that Richard doesnt know already and says they are about to see where Locke went to and asks what he thinks. Richard says that they were with their people, sitting on a log and when Ben turned the wheel, an extremely bright white light appeared along with a sound and then John was gone.
Now whats interesting there is that Richard saw the flash and heard the sound but didnt timejump himself. Everyone else they came across in timejumping never saw or heard the associated time-travelling noise and light. Ethan didnt see it when John jumped, Young Rousseau didnt see it when Jin timejumped right in front of her, the Others didnt see it when Faraday Charlotte and Miles timeflashed out of their camp either.
So my query and food for thought is this: how did Richard see and hear the timejump stuff but not timejump himself? Hmmm this might work its way into my TimeNexus & Time-Looping Theory...we shall see.
Enjoy tonight, Desmonds first episode in a long time, Happily Ever After

Lighthouse - Final Seasons 1st Jack-centric - Ep. 5
First things first, Jacks appendectomy scar (which is fresh) now mirrors the strange neck wound he found in the Final Seasons premiere when he was in the bathroom on Oceanic 815. At the start of this eppy Jack and his mom are on the phone talkin bout the fact that Christians body is still missing and she can not find his will. Jacks puts her at ease and offers to help search, then asks when he had his appendix out. His mother says at 7 or 8 and a brief backstory Jack should remember about Christian wanting to do the surgery. She asks if he remembers, he says "I guess". However the scar as I said is fresh and def not 30 something years ols. Its only as old as when Juliette removed his appendix on the island which in linear time was only weeks prior to the "Incident" which led directly into the Flash Sideways Timeline. My theory is the timelines are slowing nexusing and bleeding thru intom each other until they merge. Thats a large theory (Eksays Time-Nexus & Looping Theory) whose lengthy and intricate description will be for another time. P.S. Just FYI as anyone who knows me would back me up on I can honestly say I have never and will never pass off anyone else theory as my own. Many of us Losties who care enough to blog on it come to similar conclusions...then again even tho were not told the answers often, many of them are meant to be pointed at subtlely, not spotlighted. Thats where the nuances of the show come into play...Anyway on we go...
In the FST:
Jack tries to be a good father to his son David (we dont know if he ever met Sara in the FST) whom he only sees once a month and is now becoming a teenager and at that oh-so-difficult age for parenting and teenage existence & angst. David disappears and Jack cant find him til he checks the kids answering machine where he learns that the boy is playing piano (which Jack thought he gace up) and trying out for an elite level conservatory spot with an orchestra - Jack gets there just in time to hear David play (walkin past a sign welcoming all "candidates") and Jack is then visibly moved by his sons skill and depth of emotion in that skill. Jack meets Dogen and his son at the audition and they have an interesting conversation on pressure and whats really important in life. Jack then catches up to David outside and tells him his disappearance scared him half to death, and also that he was very impressed by his playing. David was surprised and insecure about Jack listening. When Jack asks why he didnt tell him, David says its because Jack used to get SO into Davids playing that it was too much pressure for him to continue in that way. So he told Jack he stopped and made his mother promise not to tell. When asked why he did all that David said it was all because he didnt want his father to see him fail. Jack tells David that in his eyes David could never fail, and he will always love him no matter what. This starts to get thru to David. Jack then relates the story of how Christian never wanted Jack to fail either and instead of supporting him or talking to Jack in a constructive way, Christian just went thru life telling Jack that he "doesnt have what it takes" and Jack tells David that that very line and thoughts of his father are things he has carried with him for his entire life (main sub-sub plot of the episode). David and Jack share a positive bonding emotional moment and then Jack asks David if he wants to eat with hi (which David had earlier been reluctant to do) and this time David is happy and smiling to do so.... (Then they Flash Back to Real Timeline)
Original Reality:
Hurley is lookin for a "kitchen" or such a kind of room in the temple, while walking thru the natural Springs room he sees someone and asks if they know where the kitchen is. They respond that its down that hall and call him "hugo" At that he recognizes the voice as Jacob. What Hurley didnt notice - but we did as viewers - is that Jacob was doing something - apparently pouring something - into the springs which we already know had been corrupted and/or polluted somehow after Jacobs death. What wa she pouring? Weve been given no clues, maybe it had to do with Dogen drowning in that same spring not too long thereafter....thats for another blog though. Jacob tells Hurley he and Jack (Jack MUST go with him) have to go somewhere for Jacob to help because Jacob claims "someone is coming to the island" amd they need help being guided here he says. He gives Hurley specific and secret instructions as to getting out of the Temple and what he and Jack need to do what theyve gotten to their destination. Whether that is true or just a manipulation on his part to get H & J moving we do not yet know.
Sayid inquires with Jack as to the "infection" the Temple people think he has but Jack doesnt know any details, all he knows is they say it happened before to someone else they know - Claire. (Who as far as they know is still missing) but we learned is alive 2 episodes previous.
Claire appears out of the blue and saves Jin from being shot by two of the Others and then frees him from a bear trap set as a booby trap of her own devising (very rousseasu-esque there as well). She asks some basic questions and answers some of his own basic questions. She points out that the others have been trying to kill her and that she in under the belief that they have taken baby Aaron. She tells Jin she hasnt been alone all these years on the island, she has had her father and her "friend" with her, who both told her the Others took Aaron. Jin knows Aaron went with Kate but is too fearful of this new crazy jungle Rousseau-like girl he used to know and care about. He tries to save the Claire-captured Other by saying Kate took care of Aaron but she axed the Other in the chest anyway (apparently that specific Other named Justin had a history of fighting together in the previous 3 years) She then asks Jin about the truth of his statement about Kate and believing he is saving himself some pain or death he lies and says that the Others do have Aaron at the Temple and he just lied to try and spare the mans life. Claire said they had tried to kill her many times and woulddve tried again...
Meanwhile, Dogen - The Temples Guardian and leader with more to his role serving Jacob that hasnt and probably wont be explained - comes across Hurley in a tunnel in the back of the Temple, Hurley is reading something off his arm and comparing it to markings on the wall. He asks what Hugos doing there and just then Jacobs ghost appears at Dogens side and tells Hurley to reply that he is a candidate and he casn do as he pleases. He tells Dogen this and Dogen does then leave him alone, though saying in japanese that if he didnt have to protect him hed have cut his head off. Jacob asks why hurley doesnt have Jack with him and Hurley says that everyone knows how Jack is and he doesnt wanna go anywhere without a good explained reason. Hurley asks if Jacob has some way of motivating Jackl to go and they cut scene to Hurley sitting next to Jack in the Temple yard. He tells jack to act normal and this puzzles and irritates Jack. He telsl him jacob says Jack needs to go but Jack says if thats the case he wants to talk to him, Hurley points out he cant sincve Jacobs dead. hurley says yo jack - i told him youd be this way and he said to tell you "that you have what it takes." This sent Jack into a frenzy. His father telling him he "didnt have what it takes" was the defining aspect of Jacks life so to hear those words from jacob shook him to the core. Especially considering Jack saw his dead father walking on the island and found his unoccupied coffin so yea Jacks dad issues are higher then most by this point already. So Jack asks if Jacob will be at their destination and hurley says yes so he says then lets go and youre gonna talk to jacob for me. The Lighthouse turns out to be very close to the caves they briefly inahbited in Season 1, Im sure Jacob made it "invisible" so to speak like the Temple and like the island is when youre a certain distance away. Anyhow when goin past the caves they find Shannons asthma inhaler which was a large matter of contention in Season 1. A nice little easter egg type throe in - or shout out to the past if you will. They stop in the cave and Jack tells Hurley how he really found the cave, by chasing his dead father who led him here, where he smashed the coffin, hurley asked why he did that and Jack said "because he wasnt in it". The irony here being the entire FST part of this episode plays off the total flip side of what his & Christians relationship was. Anyway, while there, Hurley then notices the adam & eve skeletons (who each had a black and white stone there with them when we first met them) and Hurley ponders the possibility that if they time travelled again technically those skeletons could be members of their own group of people...interesting and a thought that occurred to me more then once, the stones are the most intriguing part though, alas I digress. Lets wrap this up.
So Jack and Hurley get to the Lighthouse and there is no jacob to be found - yet anyway. The door into it is locked or stuck and Jack sarcastically asks if Jacob warned Hurley about stuck doors, hurley says no and jack kicks the thing open. Jack wonders aloud how theyd never seen it yet. They go to the top where there is a series of cogs attached to 4 mirrors and to a large flat laid cog that has 360 names on it going all the way around it. Most names have lines drawn thru them. Hurley says jacob told him to turn the mirror to 108 degrees. Thats right "108" remember? the swan countdown timer and the sum of the numbers(4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42 - that add up to the Valenzetti Equation - The Equation is too much to explain now - if ur interested go to www.lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/Valenzetti_Equation. )
SO Hurley starts turning the dial and jacks lookin on and as the dial moves and the mirror angles change Jack sees thing in the mirror that arent there, theyre projections and not reflections. He sees the church where sawyer met Jacob and the place where Sun & Jin met him but doesnt know what those places are anyway. Then however he sees his childhood home and bugs the fuck out and Hurley why jacobs been weatchin him and what the fuck is goin on type shit. When Hurley has no answers and no jacob there to answer either jack smashes the mirrors out of fear and spite. Jacob appears to hurley after Jack walked up a cliff on his own a bit to stare out at the ocean - hurley bugs on Jacob and tells him that because he wasnt here jack smashed his lighthouse mirrors and the person theyre supposed to help is screwed but Jacobs reaction isnt worried, he smirks and says hes sure theyll find another way there. Hurley recognizes somethign awry in the Jacobs mannerisms and says that Jacob wanted Jack to see what he saw and do what he did. And Jacob admitted it and said it was the only was to get jack to realize how important he is and what he has to do. He says for some people you can just get in the back of their cab and tell them what to do (referring to what he did to Hurley in s5 eppy "316") but some people you have to let think and stare out at the ocean for a while to come to terms with and accept what they have to do. He then tells Hurley he also had to get them as far from the Temple as possible because someone "bad" was going there. Hurley wanted to run and warn but jacob said it was too late....That will lead us into the next episode "Sundown" which in contrast to the title is actually a Sayid episode.
The last scene is Claire tending to jin in her hut thing-a-mah-bob when Jin starts askin about her friend again, just then the Main in Black walks in in Locke form much to Jin shock. Claire smiles at Flocke and Jin asks "Locke?" And Claire replies "no silly thats not John, thats my friend"...... wowzers holy Claire bear down with Smokey Batman! And thus the episode finsihed - a very very good episode. As Jacks always have been but Season 6 each episode has been special, everyone is giving their very best knowing it was the last go round. Fantastic.. Ok its late gotta go.

Things You Guys Need To Know for Full Appreciation
LOST between seasons one and four did a lot of internet games and puzzles/riddles/ special unique sneak peaks at thing you dont see on the show itself but are in fact just as relevant to the show and the whole situation. For instance they released at a comic-con and on the net an "orientation" video for a DHARMA station (The Orchid) that you never saw - I mean you saw the station on the show but only saw a small part of the orientation video when Locke watched it in a fucked up VCR. Anyhow if youve never learned any of this net released mythology and backstory that is okayed by the writers and creators then go to LOSTpedia and search for these topics:
* The Valenzetti Equation
* The Hanso Foundation (aka The Hanso Group) **
* Oceanic Airlines
* The Widmore Corporation **
* Much more to be found on the DHARMA Initiative
* The DeGroots
* Mittelos Bioscience & Thomas Mittelwerk
* Alvar Hanso & Magnus Hanso
* The Sri Lanka Video/Conspiracy
* DJ Dan Podcasts
* Persephone Hacks
* The Spider Protocol
* Heavy Paik Industries **
** Note that you will learn that Hanso, Widmore & Paik all do business together. The Hanso Foundation founded the DHARMA Initiative, Widmore Corp is Charles Widmores biz (Pennys Dad & Previous "Others" Leader) and Paik Industries is owned and run by Jins Father-in-Law aka Suns father
And if you look at the book and literature part of LOSTpedia youll find many great book, some that are only referenced on the show but many that bear significance when you know what theyre about. Check it out if you want to delve even deeper yet into the mystery of the MiB, jacob, The Island, and our people....

FINALLY!!!!!!!!!
Get to see ya in the original timeline life brutha!!! Dez-motherfuckin-mond has finally returned. Ive been awaiting this more then Mr Ekos planned return that never happened because the actor was a dick. Anyhow YES!!! Desmond is my fave Non-Jack Non-Locke character of all, hes just friggin great. And a romantic fool like yours truly so I guess I can relate....Lol
Great Theory I Ran Across
Garden of Eden theory: thats where man was tested and tempted by the devil or serpent or whatever. I had that theory in the back of my head but never related it to eden, I just thought it was a "zone of judgment" in that aspects (among its many other aspects) It seems like that and a mix with the Book of Job. Look them up on LOSTpedia to find out the paraleels if youre not familiar with the tales... if youre that interested in the show then its worth the look.
Enjoy

A Thought on Jacobs Goodness or is There Grey Area?
Okay im watchin Final Season Ep 10 The Package so I will be brief but its a quick thought.
So Jacob said in Ab Aeterno to richard that those who would become the Others were his people that he would try to bring oiut the best of to prove Smoket aka MiB wrong about human nature. So let me pose this thought: The Purge of the Dharma Initiative was carried out by all Jacobs people and richard included. So he sanctioned (at least tacitly) the genocide of all those people? And hes supposed to be proving what to Smokey? Maybe Dharma stepped over some line of endangering the island but if so what was it because the purge happed in 92 and they had a truce in place from at least as early as '77 as seen during time travel. So they co-existed all that time thru the driliing and all the experiments Dharma did and suddenly in 92 theu purge them? Even if it was Ben or another of the Others leaders ideas, nothing goes down among his people on that island without Jacobs say so. Hmmm.... interesting
PS - Thought today about the Alternate Timeline where the islands underwater: is Smokey stcuk in the island or in its field still? Is it dead? Did it get out or is the island still acting as the metaphorical cork to the evil....?

Kahana Mercenaries / Widmore Motive in Season Four
So in thinking on Widmore after watchin Recon, where he and Sawyer spoke on the sub. And it rekindled thoughts Ive been havin for a while, wondering if Widmore hasnt been working for Smokey/FLocke/The Man in Black all this time. That might be the real reason for his "banishment" as opposed to for breakin rules as he and ben spoke of in a flashback from Dead is Dead. Now when Locke was off island Widmore was adamant he had to help John get back to the island because a "war" was coming to the island and Widmore said if Locke wasnt there then the wrong side would win. Team Jacob off island (ilanas team) told miles there was a war comin and that widmores side was the wrong and bad side so miles should go on that freighter (as seen in some like it hoth). John getting (well really just going) back to the island was the main cog in the MiB's plan to kill Jacob and Widmore happened to have some foreknowledge that John would be needed in a coming war. So now the Kahana freighter and mercenaries were sent with the express stated intention of takin ben linus, whether or not theyd have killed everyone else on the island it was never directly said, but takin ben was a definite. And with Ben gone Locke would have become leaders of the others right then. The MiB then could have schemed to have Locke murdered in any number of ways without directly doing it himself whether thru the island pitfalls or simply manipulating a weak mind into it. Anyway so that also would put Locke as leader and provide him an audience to see Jacob, all aspects of Smokeys master plan. So is Widmore doin Smokeys bidding? I cant say Im sure but my feeling is yes, and thus I also believe that Widmore has an alterior motive and a plan to use the Monster to his advantage in some way or another. Hell who knows maybe he was promised Jacobs job (or at least "control" of the island if he helped MiB, but as weve all learned by now, Smokey will do or say anything to manipulate people into doing or providing what he wants. So i def dont know the why but my gut tells me Widmores working for FLocke; tho hes very much afraid of him and prepared to defend himself from it.
Well anyway we will find out soon who are on what definitive sides of this coming war.
Next episode will be the Package, can FLocke use Jin as bait to get Sun into his camp? We shall see....

The Final Season Locke-centric Episode; S.6 E.4 The Substitute
Okay my Lost-o-Philes this is my rough outline of food for thought arising from the Substitute - what an amazing chain off episodes it has kicked off too! Recon is out last new episode shown as of now. I will refine this later likely but wanted to post something now nevertheless, I had the writing itch and I gotta scratch whenever it appears, plus I dont wanna fall too far behind. I am keeping the big picture in mind and have to be ready for the end because it is near my friends...it is......... Lol . Anyhow, I have thinking notes ready on Lighthouse, Sundown, Dr Linus and Recon and have began to jot some down, so they wont be far behind, keep watching your back - ya never know when FLocke might appear out of thin air.....
The Substitute:
FST (Flash Sideways Timeline): Locke Lied & Fired from job - lied to Boone on plane abt goin on Walkabout - has helen, relat w/ cooper - yet is paralyzed anyway - he meets rose who helps him be more realistic about his condition, hurley who helps him out in a big jam when losing job and jack who shares a deep thp brief convo with him and says that maybe his condition can be fixed - jack said (out of character "nothings irreversible"), and he and jacks dispositions seem to be polar opposites of what they are in the original timeline
*Flocke apologized to Richard and said he wants what hes "always wanted" - for RA to leave island with him. - says most dont get a second chance
*Ilana knew about Jacobs Candidates and knew about FLockes "recruits"
* Sawyer knew right away he wasnt real Locke
*Flocke doesnt infect sawyer but uses words - is it purely manipulation or simply shared goals now that Juliet is gone and he doesnt love Kate.
* Locke Funeral & Bens Eulogy and the pea soup thick irony there of it being nice and true and spoken by his admitted murderer (Lockes second death - Jacob resurrected after fall out building)
* Mysterious Blond Boy with bloody arms that richard cant see yet sawyer could
@ Flocke chased kid in locke form, (why not smoke form?) fell, and never tried to attack when kid walked right in front of him, the kid said, you know the rules, you cant kill him" - FLocke then screams real Lockes old line of insecurity that you cant tell me what I cant do! Flocke has seemed invincible and always secure until he ran into the kid, then he seemed intimidated and insecure
* Richard tries to "save" sawyer from FLocke while MIB is off chasin the kid - but RA doesnt know sawyer is a candidate - he just found out that candidates exist. says smokey wants every single person on island dead. Sawyer refuse, RA runs at MIBs footsteps - sawyer doesnt tell Smokey who he was talkin to ("no one")
* When sawyer asks if he cawt the kid, MIB said "what kid?"
* FST - Rose helps Locke start being "realistic" and finding what he "can do"
* When sawyer asks what he is hes trapped and says he was a man just like him..knew pain, joy, losing someone he loved...losing loved ones has motivated sawyers entire life...more manipulating or real relating?
* Cave, scale, names of him & other candidates left - all of our 815 crew- other stuff in there, disorderly, unkempt- smokeys own retreat area like jacob had under the statues foot? - black & white stones (see adam & eve skeletons) - took white rock off scale and away "inside joke" (symbolic of imbalance as well)
* He saved sawyer at the ladder to the cave - seemed to really care if sawyer lived or died
* Tells sawyer what bein a candidate supposedly entails - though he says its not needed because its an island and needs no protection! - and with this candidacy his 3 options are said to be, wait and see, accept, or leave island with MiB.....but what percentage of those statements are true...?
* We just found out in the previous episode that Claire has been "alive" and living on the island for 3 years while keeping company with her father - Christian Shepherd (whom I believe was resurrected by Smokey) - a squirrel and junk baby to take aarons place and mostly kept company by the MiB himself. Jin is now in their company as well thanks to claires bear-trap for the others. Claire, Jin & LaFleur that was - Aarons mother and a former candidate along with two of the remaining 6 candidates. So it seems that Flocke is pulling together the tail end of his strategy and gathering those he wants to take with him....I have a feelin there will be plenty he will not seek to take with him though, and if they dont leave with him then they wont ever have a chance to leave any place ever again....

Time Happens...............
Aloha my fellow Lost-o-pjiles, I will have the next blog up on monday night or at latest tuesday right after the episode airs called Recon on tuesday night (which'll focus on Sawyer in the flash sideways and address both Sawyer & widmore in the present) I may even fisnish my post before the show airs. I just watched Substitute again after watching Lighthouse, Sundown & Dr Linus all again this weekend during a an extended blackout, thqank the heavens for a chanrged iTouch, well two actually thanks to my best friend the Chief! Anyhow I already outlined my main points on LH and for SD and now I just did a larger outline for the SUB cause theres a lot in that eppy that people just dont read deep enough into. this show is intricate and complex and it it intentionally done so...Anyway, I will watch Dr Linus again 2moro at some point - any point I want with the iTouch! (Oh how I love thee iTouch! Lol) Anyhow I will watch it 2moro and start the finished bloggin product for you. I give you my word. And as we all know....I still have work left to do when it comes to this island. Im a man of faith AND a man of science........my work is never truly done

How The Hell Did Cerberus Know?
Im watchin s.5/ep.12 Dead Is Dead and a thought just popped into my head that had occurred to me quite a while ago but it fell into the back of my mind for a while apparently until now. So my question is this, how did Cerberus (aka the Smoke Monster, aka Uncle Smokey aka Nemesis, aka Fake Locke aka FLocke aka The Man in Black aka MiB) know exactly when the time travelling real Locke would appear near the beachcraft so that richard could remove the bullet and deliver the message that he would have to die? Smokey could not have gotten the time from Lockes memory cause Locke had no concept of the precise time, all he would have known was that it was sometime after the plane fell with boone in it and thus sometime after they had crashed but thats it, otherwise for all Locke knew it could have been the future long after all the losties had died. And obviously when the real Locke actually did pop into that time period Smokey himself was standing with Ben just 20 yards away or less. Now even though I believe that all these events may have been repeated before and still repeating in a big time loop that still doesnt explain how Cerberus could know of Lockes time-flash appearance for the very first time that this chain of events happened. I think I might have just talked my theory into some sort of paradox but its a legit question. If Smokey is a sentient being not directly connected to the island then how the hell did he possess the knowledge? Strange huh? Even if the Man in Black (and Jacob) were not effected by the time loop and their own timelines always continued forward and thus suffered no loss of memory then that still wouldnt explain it because FLocke always had to be there since he tells richard to tell the real Locke that he will have to die..... I know it gets redundant and diluted when you talk (and especially type) about time travel but what can I do? Such things must be explored!! Lol Im the magellan of LOST, the captain morgan of the island!!! Lol. Explore on my fellow fanatics ;)

Possibilities for Who is number 108 coming to the Island
Michael - we havent seen him since the kahana exploded but the last thing he saw was Smokey in Christians form so Mike may have been used and discarded.
Walt - Ben and all the others knew he was special and said so - they asked Mike crazy questions about Walt in the episode 3 minutes from Season 2
Aaron - unlikely to be the Aaron we know since hes only 4 or so years old but on this island hell it could be future parallel universe Aaron...
My personal favorite in the race...my boy Desmond - theres too much background on Dez for me to get into it now but his time travelling - surviving hatch explosion at ground zero - and if I am right and widmore is working for Smokey then Penny would be Smokeys attempt at mainpulating Dez to stay off the island and fulfilling whatever it is Jacob needs of him...

Could The Numbers From The Substitute Have Just Revealed It All?
A thought occured to me as I was on the train watchin what kate does on my iTouch....the numbers Jacob wrote in the cave - 4 (Locke) - 8 (Hurley) - 15 (Sawyer) - 16 (Sayid) - 23 (Jack) and 42 (Kwon - I believe both Sun & Jin are on that number)
So my thought was this - - what if the answer is hidden in plain sight the whole time? Obscurely but hidden nonetheless - 8 and 15 thats Hurley & Sawyers numbers - as in Oceanic Flight 815....but the topper is that 8 and 15 add up to 23....Jacks number.
Could it be that Jack will be the next Protector of the Island, Hurley will be the new Dogen Temple Guardian and Sawyer will become the new version of Richard? I dont know it is possible, but the only part of that I will stand firm on is that Jack will be the next protector of the Island as stated in my big predicitons post like 2 or 3 posts down. Lol
Oooh thats a big theory I like it - LOST is big - so should the ideas it breeds! Lol
Enjoy I gotta go the Lighthouse is on now

Claire & Rousseau Theory
So Claires saga is making me think that rousseau had also been infected by the smoke and got better .... Ive already been thinking that just like there are candidates to replace Jacob there are probably candidates to replace Nemesis as the Smoke Monster . . . .

Adam & Eve....?
The skeletons found in the caves by Jack and Kate. Along with their skeletons was a bag containing a white stone & a black stone, Jack took that bag and it hasnt been seen since that episode - House of the Rising Sun (S1 E6) Now that weve seen time travel, and the reveal of Jacob and Smokey, one should look back and wonder about this mystery, because what we have learned thus far into season 6 has really only widened the mystery as well as widening the number of potential answers. Are they actually Nikki & Paolo who were buried on the beach? Or perhaps theyre actually Rose & Bernard? Dharma members? Two of the Others? Why did they have a bag that had contained both a white and black stone? Nikki & Paolo were buried on the beach and Sawyer actually poured their diamonds on top of their bodies before covering the grave. Symmetry of some sort or mere coincidence? I say symmetry of some sort and they will be revealed by the shows end. Might they have to do with leadership on the island? Maybe not on Jacobs level but like a Widmore & Hawking duo? I mean Richard did say they led the Others together.....We will see it will def be addressed....
An addendum to this: (2/16/10)
This is only ten days after I posted the above blog. I truly am ahead of my time, maybe Im special like Desmond....Last night in The Substitute we saw just such stones show up yet again when Nemesis aka Fake Locke brought Sawyer to Jacobs "listing" cave at the cliffs. They were placed on a balanced scale until Smokey picked up the white stone and chucked it out to sea, when Sawyer asked what that was about Smokey replied: "An inside joke..." So the stones defintiely do have to do with the protectorship and/or leadership of the island. Smokey thinks he won his battle with Jacob and so he tossed the white stone away. Added to that is the scales....seems like each side is needed to bring balance, I think Smkokey going "home" off the island is what will send everything to hell. They always said the Smoke Monster was a security system for the island....maybe it very much needs the protection that FLocke told Sawyer is not needed........
